If you want eat/drink there you absolutely need to make a reservation. Really good and friendly people.

Great atmosphere inside, 3 floors and as usual friendly staff, spoke solid English. The food was tasty, fish felt fresh. Prices are average, count 15$ for a dinner. Quite loud, what makes it typical Japanese as we learned. Make a reservation, even tho we were here in winter and during the week, we barely got a place. Must do as a dinner spot!

There are lots of high ratings for Hitoshi and on TripAdvisor this restaurant is currently number one, so I was really excited when they were able to accommodate my reservation.I must say that the price point is the main selling point as you can get toro and Ishigaki beef for a cheap price, however you get what you pay for.Now I'm not sure if the quality has declined or if I was simply unlucky but I cannot for the life of me see how any of the food is of high quality (which the other reviewers claim). The toro had lots of inedible tendons, the beef was mediocre (sauce was alright) and the "giant shellfish" was horribly fishy and I could not finish it.I think the high ratings set my expectations kinda high.. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I suggest that you skip this place; there are plenty of better restaurants which are better deserving of your time and money.

Too popular! The food is fine but the strong Tabelog score and other reviews make this place ridiculous rushed, you are getting hassled to leave after one hour. Avoid is you would like a relaxed evening.

Mixed bag... You get what you'd get in an izakaya in Tokyo. Not better, not worse. And for roughly the same price. You always expect the sea food to be more amazing in small country side cities, but it is not the case here.Staff is nice and diligent, atmosphere pretty good. Worth eating there if you are around.

There was a line at 5pm when it opened. Don’t go without a reservation. Delicious, extremely affordable, fresh, very efficient service.

It was nice when we went. You'll need to book a day or 2 in advance as it's very popular in the evenings. They have an all you can drink deal...main reason it's busy in the evening. Food was OK. Think locals like the atmosphere. You'll need to take your shoes off when going here. Fairly casual

Delicious food!!

Quite simply some of the best sashimi I’ve ever had. I tried the recommended assorted sashimi, it was incredibly fresh and came with a few lovely additions including the umi budou which I love! I was alone and went in right at the start so I got in without a reservation but if you want to be assured of a seat (especially if you’re in a group) then definitely make a reservation. It’s a tightly run operation! Well worth it though and very reasonably priced for the quality.

Ate at both Hitoshi and found the food better at Honten. reservations ARE difficult to make!

Simply incredible. For a nice sushi/sashimi restaurant, you cannot beat the price for the quality. My wife and I had an entire meal, including more sashimi than I have ever eaten in a single sitting, ordered drinks, a dessert to share, and were completely full, and the total bill was around 7,000 yen. Be sure to make a reservation very early. We were lucky to get a 5pm reservation with two days notice.

Lovely pub! It was so crowded so luckily we made reservation. The car park is two blocks away. A bit hard to order as the today special and special dishes were all in Japanese hanging on the wall. We tried several dishes on their English menu and blindly picked several on the wall. They were delicious !!!! Price was very reasonable even we drank sake also. Recommend their beef ! So delicious.

Good service, good seafood

Great place! Made a reservation the night before but only managed to get a 9.30pm slot. We ordered the fatty tuna set, beef sushi, sea grapes, fried rice with ishigaki beef and some meat skewers. All were very good! Price was reasonable too. The girl who spoke English was very friendly. For parking, you have to ask them for directions if you are unfamiliar. The Carpark is a few blocks away.

Good quality and wide variety for a very reasonable price! Would recommend to try once, but gets crowded easily. Went on a Wednesday night at 630pm but was only able to reserve a table for 9. Must try in ishigaki! Would recommend umi infused noodles and tuna sushi. Beef fried rice was not bad as well

My first choice restaurant in ishigaki!

We did book the table, we met a woman from the day tour that she walk in and could not get a table. The sashime for 2 is just amazing, 1500yen but with at least 7-8 kinds of fish, and there were 4-5 kinds of different parts of tuna, so yummy and fatty~~

Open hour wrong! We took some time to walk over to this restaurant to book table as suggested by hotel staff, and Google Map said it was in operation and open! But see the photo taken on site ? Just a tag stuck on gate saying "Closed", without mentioning even the open hours....What a service!Must warn tourist visitors that this may be quite common at Ishigaki, the second time we encountered in a few days (early June).

One of the best or maybe the best Izakaya restaurant in Ishigaki. Doesn't matter what it was - fish, meat or rice dishes- all were amazing. Reservations are mandatory. Prices are very fair.

The best izakaya I've been to! The fatty tuna is the best and so cheap! Came 3 times in a week! Better reserve in advance because they get full fast!
